Dates and Deadlines

Filing your FAFSA by the established deadlines ensures that you will be given the greatest consideration for financial assistance with your college expenses.

2026-2027 Academic Year

Priority Filing Date for Undergraduate Students

Students who wish to be considered for financial aid for the 2026-2027 academic year should file as close as possible to the March 1, 2026 priority filing date. Due to limited student financial aid resources, Rivier must establish priority deadlines for financial aid applications. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the FAFSA is filed by the priority deadline. On-time financial aid applicants are given full consideration for assistance. The availability of funds cannot be guaranteed for late applicants; therefore, they will be considered on a funds-available basis. To award federal funding to a student, the Office of Financial Aid must have a valid Student Aid Report (the results of the FAFSA).

The deadlines for filing your FAFSA and providing additional documentation/information that the Office requests are as follows:

For Fall-only 2026 Aid-Eligible Students – October 15, 2026
For Fall/Spring 2026-2027 or Spring-only 2027 Aid-Eligible Students – March 11, 2027

Undergraduate aid-eligible students are those enrolled at least half-time (with some exceptions). Furnishing the required documents by these deadlines doesn’t guarantee the award of Rivier need-based funding (Rivier Grant) for Undergraduate students. As this is a limited funding pool, students are strongly encouraged to provide the necessary documents well before these deadlines. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at (603) 897-8488 or by email.
